Good morning. Welcome to La Auténtica. My name is Daniel Tuesta.

Master tequila maker at Auténtica and the creator of Casa Máximo’s tequila.

Let’s begin with the tequila-making process.

Here we can see the agave, the raw ingredient used to make tequila.

Selecting the raw ingredient is very important for Casa Máximo.

We look for agave plants that are at least six years old.

Another important part is the jima, the trimming of the agave.

We trim the leaves close to the agave heart so its aromas…

…can develop during the cooking process.

The next stage of tequila production is cooking.

For Casa Máximo, we use a slow cooking process.

We use autoclaves for this stage.

We focus on controlling temperature and pressure.

This allows for a long cooking process…

…to bring out as many of the cooked agave’s aromatic notes as possible.

OUR BRAND LANGUAGE

Four elements.
One shared essence.

Casa Máximo is born from the meeting of the four elements that make tequila possible. These natural forces coexist in harmony, reflecting both the tequila-making process and the experience of sharing it.

Golden iconography: fire at the top, earth on the right, air at the bottom, and water on the left, connected by an orbit
Casa Máximo
01

Earth

Origin, roots, agave, Mexican land.

Earth is where it all begins. From it grows the blue agave that, over the years, absorbs the richness of Jalisco’s soil.

02

Water

Purity, balance, fluidity.

Water is the essence that connects and balances the process. It lends smoothness and allows the tequila to achieve its clarity.

03

Fire

Transformation, intensity, tradition.

Fire awakens the soul of agave. Cooking releases its aromas and begins the true transformation.

04

Air

Aroma, time, expression.

Air allows tequila to breathe and reveal its character. It is the element that connects the spirit of tequila with the person enjoying it.

Elegant, profound, and connected to Mexico’s natural world.

SEVEN STAGES · ONE SHARED ORIGIN

The transformation,
step by step.

Agave and harvesting
01

Agave and harvesting

The journey begins with blue agave from Jalisco. During harvesting, the leaves are removed to reveal the heart, which is prepared for cooking. Selecting and preparing the raw ingredient is the first step in this transformation.

Cooking
02

Cooking

Heat transforms agave carbohydrates into sugars that can be fermented. The video tour introduces cooking in an autoclave, where temperature and pressure are controlled.

Extraction
03

Extraction

Cooked agave is milled to separate its juices from the fibers. This extracts the sugars that will move on to fermentation and prepares the foundation for the next stage.

Fermentation
04

Fermentation

Yeast transforms agave sugars into alcohol. This stage also develops aromatic compounds that contribute to the tequila’s profile.

Distillation
05

Distillation

Heating and condensation separate and concentrate the components of the fermented liquid. Care at this stage helps define the spirit’s character before its next destination.

Maturation and expressionEditorial cellar setting
06

Maturation and expression

Blanco reveals agave’s fresh character. Reposado and Añejo develop nuances from time in wood: distinct expressions of a shared origin.

Bottling and presentation
07

Bottling and presentation

The journey culminates in bottling and presentation. The label identifies each expression, and the collection is ready to continue its story in the glass.
